OVERVIEW

From blank slate to a brand identity for the cities of tomorrow 


This project embodies the full-spectrum creative process – from strategic thinking to visual execution. This brand identity project showcases every stage of development, including brand strategy, naming, visual identity, logo design, website design, marketing collateral, and social media assets.

CHALLENGE

I was tasked with building a brand identity from scratch for a new smart-city platform. Teranexa is a groundbreaking next-generation system that combines city infrastructure, data intelligence, and AI into one connected ecosystem. The challenge? There was no brand. No name. No assets. No direction. I was brought in to create everything—from naming and visual language to a foundation that communicated a technology platform that didn’t yet exist.

SOLUTION

The process covered both strategic and creative phases, beginning with defining the brand’s purpose, mission, and vision before creating anything visual. From there, I moved into naming and brand identity development.

The naming process began with a series of brainstorming and ideation sessions designed to explore the essence of the brand from multiple angles. I wanted the name to reflect the merging of two worlds — city infrastructure and AI. Through exploration of Latin roots, I discovered Terra, meaning “terrain,” and Connexa, meaning “connected.” Together, they formed Teranexa — a name that embodies connection, intelligence, and the foundation of the cities of tomorrow.

CHALLENGE

Design a logo and color palette for a brand with no existing visual foundation. The identity needed to capture the essence of an AI-powered smart city platform while establishing a distinctive and meaningful visual language from scratch.

SOLUTION

The second phase covered the design process of the logo and brand colors. The logo combines two letters from two words to create a compound name, reflecting the theme of two worlds coming together. I decided to design the two letters into a shape that resembles two city lanes merging into each other within a city grid, a visual metaphor for connection and process. Since Teranexa represents a new kind of smart city infrastructure powered by AI, it needed to embody the brand’s alignment with smart city objectives. Four shades of green and one black were chosen to reflect the brand’s commitment to sustainability and innovation. The color green conveys environmental responsibility and eco-friendly values. Beyond its visual appeal, green also has a powerful psychological effect, inspiring consumers to make sustainable choices and fostering a sense of balance, renewal, and growth.

In the final phase covered the marketing website, marketing collateral, social media assets, sales deck and trade show banners.

CHALLENGE

The biggest challenge was simplifying a complex, technology-driven concept that didn’t previously exist into clear, accessible, easy to digest visuals without overwhelming the audience. 

SOLUTION

Once the brand identity was established, every touchpoint was designed with clarity and consistency in mind. From the marketing website, sales deck, to social media assets and trade show banners, the goal was to translate highly technological concepts into clear, engaging visual design that showcased the brands futuristic spirit of innovation which was achieved through thoughtful design choices — clean layouts, intuitive visual hierarchy, and consistent use of color and form that brought sophistication and simplicity to a complex idea.

RESULT

The final result is a brand that seamlessly blends forward-thinking innovation with AI technology. Teranexa now moves ahead with renewed focus and bold confidence.

Every touchpoint—from visual identity to messaging—now communicates a commitment to help cities harness the power of AI to create a meaningful impact by creating additional revenue opportunities.
