BIO
Born & raised in Los Angeles, California
Jonathan began his career in Graphic Design in the early 2000s at the early age of 19. His interest in Graphic Design goes all the way back to the ’90s while in elementary school, where he began using Print Shop and Adobe PageMaker in his computer lab class.
Jonathan is a Creative Director with 20 years of experience in graphic design and 10 years leading creative teams, specializing in brand design, marketing design, and visual design for tech companies and fast-growing startups. His career has been shaped by one core focus: creating design that brings clarity to complex ideas and strengthens how brands are experienced across every touchpoint.
His foundation in design began early long before formal roles and titles through self-directed exploration and hands-on experimentation that developed a strong instinct for composition, typography, and visual hierarchy. This early discipline shaped not just how he designs, but how he thinks: system-first, detail-driven, and grounded in craft.
To deepen his strategic approach to brand design, Jonathan studied branding at the Future London Academy, where he expanded his expertise in brand design and brand strategy for designers. His training covered brand symbols, architecture, product vision and purpose, visual identity systems, brand guidelines, content strategy, brand launches, and leading design teams. He also studied contemporary brand approaches from Lovework Studio, ensuring his work reflects current, best-in-class thinking in modern brand building.
Over two decades, Jonathan has built and evolved brands across print, digital, web, and experiential environments. He has designed logos, brand identities, marketing collateral, sales materials, websites, trade show assets, and scalable visual systems giving him a holistic view of how design supports real business needs. His experience spans agencies, in-house teams, startups, and global organizations, allowing him to adapt quickly while maintaining a consistently high standard of work.
Over the last decade, Jonathan has stepped into Creative Director roles where he leads teams, refines creative processes, and elevates brand quality at scale. He partners closely with marketing, product, and leadership teams to ensure brand and marketing design are aligned, cohesive, and effective across channels.
One of his most notable leadership roles was at OpenX, where he advanced from Senior Digital Designer to Creative Director. There, he built and led a creative team, implemented structured workflows, and led major brand and website initiatives for a global ad tech company. Under his leadership, the brand earned multiple industry awards and supported high-visibility moments, including Cannes Lions, Advertising Week, Mobile World Congress, and DMEXCO.
Jonathan’s work is informed by a global perspective shaped through years of travel and exposure to diverse design styles and cultures. This experience influences how he approaches modern brand systems creating design that feels intentional, adaptable, and relevant in a global market.
Today, Jonathan brings together deep hands-on design expertise and seasoned creative leadership. He understands how strong brand systems are built, how marketing design supports growth, and how visual clarity strengthens brand perception. This combination is what allows him to elevate brands strategically making him a trusted creative leader for teams that need design to perform at the highest level.

PASSION & INTERESTS
What inspires my design work: Design, music, & travel

Design
Design sparks my desire to create things that are not only visually appealing but serve a purpose. I am motivated by how strategic design can simplify life and its complexities. Precision and attention to detail inspire me to think how small changes make a big impact and can overcome challenges in clever and elegant ways.

Music
Music has been a part of my life since childhood, shaping my experiences and fueling my creativity. My first job was working at a record store at 16, which led me to learn the art of DJing. I created a YouTube channel where I combined both my passions learning new skills, techniques, and improving continuously.

Travel
Traveling has given me a broader perspective, has encouraged me to self reflect, and inspire new ideas in my creative work. It has also encouraged me to be in the present moment allowing me to notice and appreciate all the details and beauty around me. It has helped break creative blocks and allow me to wander in new directions.
